Autism Northern Territory is the peak body for autism spectrum disorders in the Territory. As a non-government, not for profit organisation operating on grants, donations and sponsorship the committee of Autism NT currently employs a full time Executive Officer and a part time Administration Officer.

We strive to offer support and information to those who are living and working with autism spectrum disorders as well as the general public throughout the Northern Territory. We are available to anyone requiring support, information or assistance from birth up.

Autism NT does not employ service providers however we maintain a database of services which is readily available. Autism NT seeks funding to bring speakers and workshops to the Northern Territory on a regular basis. We are available to provide education within education and employment environments. In 2012 we are looking forward to introducing social skills programs and are pleased to be part of the newly implemented ASD Mentors NT.

A brief history....

Autism NT was founded by a group of parents and professionals who saw a need for an organisation to support families. The group was formally recognised as an Association in April 2002. In 2005 Autism NT was kindly offered a shopfront office at Nightcliff Shopping Centre by Mr Tony Milhinhos.

What do we do?

This generous donation of office space allows us not only a space to operate but also a central location for our extensive library and for people to drop in for a coffee, a chat and someone to talk to. Both members and the public are welcome to come in and seek information or speak to staff. Non-financial members may read our library books within the office however they may not borrow them.

Autism NT facilitates workshops and information sessions bringing national and international speakers to the Territory.

A note about our supporters.....

Autism NT would like to thank and acknowledge all their sponsors and supporters over the years. Some of our sponsor logos are included on this website and are listed in no specific order.

Special mention must be made to our most generous and ongoing support:

The Milhinhos Familywho’s ongoing support and generosity have allowed us to remain within the Nightcliff Shopping Centre and available for support.

The Halikos Group – the ongoing support of John Halikos has been an important part of our journey.

CTM Refrigeration – After tax and expenses profit from CTM is donated to Autism NT.

Autism NT welcomes new members and anyone who wishes to call in and have a look at our library.

Our office is located at Shop 22, Nightcliff Shopping Centre (the Woolies Complex), Dick Ward Drive Coconut Grove.
